As my first year in the High Tech High system and a brand new student to project based learning, semester 1 was a big shift. I had to understand that at High Tech High everything you do has a purpose and a meaning to it. It's not like the traditional schools that I have been going too since kindergarten where you have to memorize words, write essays' and take multiple tests on a subject that you will most likely forget the next day. At HTH you are given tasks that are important and that are going to be of use to you. During our projects we have the ability to get in touch with professionals in the field connected with the subject and go out in the real world to gain more knowledge on our topics rather than looking it up on the computer or in a textbook. Nothing is more rewarding than to be able to show off your end project and be able to say, "I did this." Please take a look at the work I've done so far!
